Madison Powell

Madison Powell, a professional freelance and orchestral violinist, places a great deal of importance on music education.  A principle of her instruction is to make every student a better teacher to themselves by teaching students how to identify, assess, and correct problems within their playing to make their personal practice time more effective and efficient, thereby maximizing their success. She is a highly respected and full-time private teacher, as her students have taken prizes at statewide music competitions.  Mrs. Powell is a featured clinician in the Indiana area and works with many middle and high school music programs and maintains a large private studio.

Mrs. Powell began her violin studies at age eight and her flute studies at age ten. As a scholarship pupil of virtuoso Anna Vayman, Mrs. Powell received her degree in Violin Performance from Ball State University.  Mrs. Powell is frequently hired as a violinist with various Orchestras throughout Indiana. She has served as the Orchestra Teacher Assistant at Clay Middle School in Carmel Clay Schools. Additionally, she was Interim Orchestra Director at Goshen Community Schools, and Carmel Middle School.

Mrs. Powell's rich musical background and extensive musical training were enhanced by her studies with pupils of the famed virtuoso and pedagogue Joseph Gingold. She is also a proud alumnus of the Indiana University String Academy at the world-renowned Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana.  Outside of her musical endeavors, Mrs. Powell enjoys spending time with her family.
