What a great school year it has been so far! I am so proud of everyone’s hard work and progress made over the school year!
A couple reminders for May:
There is no May tuition payment (Last tuition payment of the year was due on April 15).
Last week for lessons is May 16-20
June and July
I’m afraid to say, that I will not be able to offer summer lessons this year, however, I look forward to seeing you again in August!
Ideas to keep up skill during summer:
Review old pieces and exercises you learned during the school year.
Summer is a great time to try a non-method music book that is purely for fun. (Ex: movie/pop/greatest hits etc.) Music sections at music stores are great to shop for these books because your student can flip through the book that interests them and make sure the music is not too difficult to play.
Summer music camps (There is one happening at the middle school! See Mr. Z)
Make music part of the daily routine! I find the best time to practice is as early as possible in the day. You get to start the day of with a sense of accomplishment and this also eliminates the challenges of conflicts of other planned/surprise activities during the summer months. Also, you be at your freshest!
Parents/Guardians, please be sure to sign up through the in-school lessons signup provided by your orchestra teacher. Your orchestra teacher sends out this link at the very beginning of the school year. I will send reminders as well! My teaching schedule for in-school lessons is created from this signup so you don’t want to miss it!
